Bookcase Pinspiration

I know I promised you all in my Junky Old Barn post that I would reveal the bookcase yesterday and I didn't because of my When things go from good to GREAT! post. So I am extending things a little bit longer today and I am giving you all of my Pinspiration for the bookcase. It took me quite a while to decide what to do about the little yellow bookcase. I just wasn't happy with the way it looked. I couldn't decide what color to paint it or if I wanted to do a design on it. So here is the inspiration I used to decide what to do about my little bookcase.

First I thought I might do something like this, paint the top a different color then the bottom. That could be interesting right? I love this table, the contrast of dark and light is something I love. I think that Bryn did an amazing job on this table. To find out step by step what Bryn did and how to make your own table like this go to Bryn Alexandra and check it out.

Now this table I am really in love with. I think it is gorgeous and I might use this for my table inspiration, I talked about it last week here. I just might use stripes for that, so I wasn't to sure about using stripes for my little bookcase and using stripes for my kitchen table. But I just adore this table, it is so gorgeous. What's not to love? If you love it also go see Jesse at Nine Red and check out his other amazing furniture makeovers.

I adore this table, seriously. I want to paint every table I have this color. But I don't think that would look to cute, then I would be the crazy woman with pink everything in her house. But I seriously love what Jessica did with the top of this table. It is super cute, I wish I had her nieces play room! I thought a cool design like this might be fun for the top of my bookcase but I didn't know how well it would go with a rectangular top. To find out how Jessica achieved this top go check out Juicy Bits and see her.

So here is my little book case. What do you think I should do with it? I've already decided on a color but the design is still in debate. So which is your favorite? Or do you have a completely different idea that you think would look better?

Healty Choice Challenge Week 3

How did last week go? Did you enjoy going outside and doing something? I know it's been hot outside but I know it was worth it. If you are new to the Healthy Choice Challenge check out Week 1 and Week 2 to get updated.

I leave for Mexico in 5 days! I am so excited to lay on the beach for 5 days and relax. It is going to be a great vacation. So in preparation for my trip I have been eating healthy for the last 6 months as you all found out in Week 1. When I decided to start eating healthy I really wasn't sure where to start. So I did what every girl does, I got on Pintrest. These are my favorite healthy food sources, feel free to add any you might have in the comments on this post.

Kelly at Eat Yourself Skinny is AMAZING! I love her website, she has the best recipes and they are so delicious! Anyone can make these recipes, and trust me you will fall in love with her once you start seeing how terrific her blog is.

Gina at Skinny Taste is also amazing. She has so many recipes that are super easy to make and delicious. She has a daughter so she also makes a lot of kid friendly recipes.

I also use an app on my I-phone from AllRecipes. First you select your dish type and then the ingredients you want to use and what you want it to be ready in. It gives you a list of recipes to choose from and it tells you all of the nutritional facts at the bottom of the recipe which is really handy for soemone trying to be healthy.

This is what the app looks like on your phone. It is super handy!

Well folks my challenge for this week is to make a healthy meal for your family. It needs to cover the majority of the food groups and be healthy. I am giving you three resources to do this and I know you all have a kitchen to cook in. You can do this, even if you are only making dinner for yourself, invite a friend over and make them dinner. This weeks challenge is to make a healthy dinner for yourself and your familly.

What are you going to make for dinner?

When things go from good to GREAT!

When I started my blog a few weeks ago it was just as a way to share my creative ideas with others. It has been an outlet for me and I look forward everyday to blogging and reading comments. I never thought that in a few short weeks I would be getting an award from a fellow blogger and calling my boyfriend to tell him about it! I can't even begin to explan my excitement about this!

Junky Old Barn

My boyfriend lives in his great grandparents old house in a very small country town. Behind the house is this old barn, it is falling down and a catch all for junk that the family doesn't want. Well yesterday I decided to go exploring in the barn and see if I could find any treasures.

This is the barn from the outside walking towards it.
This is the inside of the barn, see all the trash they have just thrown inside. Well some of the things in here are treasures they just need to be found.
This is another look at the inside of the barn.

I wasn't very brave and didn't make it much farther then the door, I have an extreme fear of snakes and skunks, both of which I am sure live in this barn. But I did find some goodies right inside the door that didn't take much work to get at all. I have been able to see some of the other treasures I would like to get but I'll have to wait until a day my boyfriend is here and can go in for me to get them. :) if you haven't figured it out yet I am a big chicken when it comes to scary things like this.

These are the treasures I found yesterday. I love these bottles.

These are gallon glass jars and I am in love with them. They were coated in a thick layer of dirt but they are so beautiful. I have so many ideas for these babies, I am so excited I found them. The best part is there are about 3-4 more of these guys inside the barn. I just couldn't get to them without climbing on top of a bunch of things and that was not about to happen.

I love this latter. I have been looking for an old one I could use to make a shelf out of and who knew it would be in the old barn. It is pretty sturdy and very well made. I love the wood on it and I'm looking forward to cleaning it up and decided where to put it.

Here is a preview of what I have coming tomorrow

I'm so excited to show you all the wonderful things I have come up with. I finally decide what to do about this little shelf, I just went for it. I am very happy with the results I have.

What treasures have you found lately?
