Not so happy Monday

Sorry friends I won't have a recipe up today like my usual What's for Dinner on Monday's. I will have something great for tomorrow though!

After a long weekend of working I get to spend my Monday going to a funeral. It is never easy to go to funerals, even if you aren't really close to the person who passed I never seem to walk out with dry eyes. The McKinsey family has been amazing to my family and I know they will greatly miss Jim. He was an amazing man and treated everyone he met like a friend. Its hard to see someone lose the battle with cancer but knowing the pain is gone makes things easier. I know God has a plan and this is part of it. I pray that he eases the suffering and heartache of Jim's family and friends.

Philippians 4:6-7

I'm praying for peace, peace for the McKinsey family, my family, our country, the world, and in our hearts. What are you praying for?

Sunday Funday

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I get to spend my afternoon with my boyfriend just relaxing and doing nothing. Its the only day we get to spend lots of quality time together. Unfortunately I am working today for a while, but after I get off we are headed to the city to do some shopping for our trip to Mexico! Its going to be here soon and I can't wait. It will be so nice to have a good vacation with my honey and my family.

Last night they finished harvest!!! I am pretty excited that it is over for the year. No more late nights in the field. I took this amazing picture of the Oklahoma sky last night while they were working on the combine. Something messed up, like always. But its all fine now because harvest is over! :)

I am so blessed to have all the wonderful things I do and spending my nights watching the sun set with my honey on the combine wasn't a bad way to spend the last two weeks. I am just glad I won't be bounced all over the place on that little baby seat again until next summer.

What is your favorite day of the week?

Garage Sale Finds!

Today is one of the only Saturday's I have to work all year, but I didn't have to get to work until 8 today. So I woke my happy little self up at my normal time and went garage saling this morning before I headed to work. One of my biggest pet peeves about garge sales is people not putting up signs. I want to come to your garage sale but if you don't put up a sign then I probably won't find it, especially on mornings when I am in a hurry. But I did happen to find a few garge sales and some cute things I didn't think I could live without.

This little box caught my eye as soon as I saw it. Check out the stamp on the front! It is in great condition and was only $5! So I snatched it up quick, I think it will look great in my future home, there are so many possibilities! It is by far my favorite purchase of the day.

I also got this little candle holder, I've been looking around for one just to use as decorations. I always find them for around $20 and this one was only $1! So I grabbed it up, I'm thinking of spray painting it maybe. I'll have to see about that one.

I also got a little candle stick and a mirror. I have some ideas for how I am going to use those so you'll see them soon. I got all of these goodies this morning before 8!

Just to update you all about my post yesterday Peaks, Pits, Prayers, Praises I ended up getting all of my information sent off for my scholarship. My boss got my recommendation letter finished before I left work and I got it post marked by June 1st so I am good to go! It is amazing how God answers prayers even when you don't always deserve it.

What are your garage sale finds?

Peaks, Pits, Praises, Prayers

This week has been very hectic, with harvest going on things get crazy. I've been taking dinner out to the field every night this week for my boyfriend and his family, so I haven't had much spare time this week. I will be glad when this week is over and I can have a breather. Thank goodness its Friday!! Which also means that tomorrow is garage sale day!! Yay I love garage sales and I'm hoping to find a coffee table to two this summer to redo for my future home.

Peak of the week: This week the peak has been getting to ride in the combine with Jarrett every evening after I take them dinner. I really enjoy getting to spend that quality time with him that I have been missing.
This is us on the combine last night.

Pit of the week: Well today as I was filling out a scholarship for next year, its one I have to renew every year, I realized the due date said June 1st not June 15th like last summer. So I am scrambling hoping that I can get everything in order today. I am crossing my fingers that my boss gets my recommendation letter done today so I can mail everything after work. I was defintely not expecting this to happen today.

Praises of the week: My praise for this week is that harvest is almost over! Things have gone quite well so far this week and everyone is busy cutting. I am so glad that everything should be done Saturday night!

Prayers for the week: My prayers for this week are that I get this scholarship in on time, that would be a blessing, that harvest continues to go well, and that I figure out some kind of second income so I can afford everything that is coming next year. The unknown of future expenses is pretty scary, the worst part is knowing its going to be a lot more expensive next year and not being sure how I'm going to be able to afford everything. I know God will take care of me though so I'm putting it in his hands.

What are your Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers for this week?
