Great State Fair

Happy Thursday everyone! The state fair of Oklahoma started last weekend and I went with Jarr and my family. We had so much fun walking around the buildings and sampling all the foods. We didn't ride any rides because I think they are a little unsafe and the lines were really long. We did spend a lot of time in a karaoke tent and listened to people sing. I must say only the best are brave enough to do that. I was pretty impressed with some of the singers and I was very entertained by them all.

This is me and Jarr at the state fair. We had a lot of fun, me probably more then him but he isn't a big fan of things like this. He was a great sport though and let me eat all the fair food I wanted.

This is an amazing strawberry crepe I had. It was so delicious! I've been thinking about going back to the fair just to get another one.

My mom and I had so much fun at the karaoke tent listening to people sing. It was great to spend time with her and I'm so glad she invited us to go to the fair.

This is a very bad picture of my mom eating fried mashed cheddar bacon potatoes. They were pretty crazy but actually weren't bad when dipped in ranch. I really enjoyed my fill of fair food and the giant corn dog I always get. The fair was a lot of fun like every year and I am so glad we went. I encourage everyone to check out their state fair and make a day of it. I really enjoy looking through the buildings at all of the crafts and peoples booths. I think its a great way to find something unique!

When's the last time you went to the fair?

Big Girl Presents

I guess when you grow up you have to start asking for things you actually need for your presents instead of things you just want. Especially since I am a college student it is always important to ask for the big things for my birthday and Christmas since I generally can't afford them by myself. So my birthday isn't for a few more weeks yet but I asked for good cookware from my grandma for my birthday.

She went ahead and got them for me since I haven't had any pots since I moved in and I want to start cooking and stop eating out so much. I am really excited about my big girl present because they are really cool. I love to cook and I am really glad I got nice cookware that will hopefully last me quite a while if I take good care of it.

This is not a sponsored post, I am not being compensated in any way for this post. I just like the product and wanted to share my views on it.

I got my cookware at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, it is the Bialetti brand and had very good reviews. After researching different places I found that they have the most affordable quality cookware and I am very happy with my purchase. These pans are very thick and seem really durable. I followed the instructions and washed them with hot soapy water before the first use and they all seem fine.

For the first meal on my new pots we made grilled ham and cheeses, well Jarr made them while I cleaned the kitchen. We are such a good team. (And he really is a great cook so I like when he volunteers even if it's something simple.) The pots have a non-stick coating on them that worked great for the grilled ham and cheeses. I let the pan cool before I washed it but everything still came off really easily.

I am VERY happy with my new cookware. I love how the skillets have handles on both sides, this makes it really easy to use when you have to strain something. I am really excited to use these more and I will be giving you another review in a few months so you know how they are working out.

What was your first big kid present?

Peaks, Pits, Praises, Prayers

I know I'm the worst blogger in the world, I just don't know how you ladies do it and manage to have a life and maintain all of the other things in your life. This week has been so crazy for me, I had my first test of the semester, a couple of papers due and I worked everyday. It has been very overwhelming for me but things should be back in order now and I should be able to actually get in a normal routine now. I can't wait to be able to have a regular routine and know what I'm doing everyday.

I also got my financial aid this week and bought a computer! I have been needing a new one so bad and that is one of the main reasons I haven't been posting lately, I have to use Jarr's computer and its very inconvenient. So with my biggest purchase of the year and my most favorite I am saying hello. I am so excited to have finally gotten the computer I have wanted for so long. It might have been a little expensive but I in no way regret my decision. I know this was a good investment for me and I am so excited about it.

This is my new baby, please excuse the crappy phone picture.

Anyways this week has been crazy and I have needed some major retail therapy, so buying my computer and a few cute clothes have definitely been a much needed reward. I have felt so drained lately, I have just been working so much and I can't seem to get in the swing of things. I am so glad it is Saturday though and I get tomorrow off. I can't wait to just relax and get things done.

Peaks of the week- My biggest peaks of the week are buying my computer and having dinner with Kyleigh for her birthday. I did both of those on the same day after my test and last class of the week so it was a great way to end the week.

Pits of the week- My pit this week is from last night, waiting 2 hours for a rain delay at Jarr's brother's football game. It was cold and wet, definitely not my idea of a good time. I did enjoy seeing Jarr's family and getting to spend time with them but waiting in the rain wasn't very enjoyable.

Praises of the week- I am praising God for allowing me to survive this week and still not be sick. I have been fighting it all week and I am crossing my fingers I don't get sick. I really need to be healthy right now.

Prayers of the week- I am praying that can continue to fight this sickness and stay healthy. I am also praying that I can get my body into a routine and get things in a normal pattern. I am praying that this week goes well at the career fair and me and Jarr both walk away with interviews for internships. We both need to get them for next summer and this week is when it happens.

What are your peaks, pits, praises, and prayers this week?

Peaks, Pits, Praises, Prayers

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but this is one of my favorite things to do every week so I am going to do it anyways. This week was my last week to work 40 hours at work and I'm so excited. It is going to be so nice to actually have some free time and be able to get things done. Last night Friday night football started and I of course went to a game. No matter how old I get or where I am in life I will always love Friday night football. It is so much fun to go and watch people who really love the game play, that's what you have in high school football, people who really love the game.

This morning I am working for a little bit and as soon as I leave work I am going to meet my family and go wedding dress shopping for my sister. They had to move the date of their wedding up to December so now everyone is scrambling to get things done and getting a dress is kind of a big deal so we are going today and hopefully we will find the perfect one. It is so crazy to me that Mal is actually getting married. I guess part of me still doesn't feel old enough to do that so I don't think she should be either. I'm definitely not ready for that big step in life but I think she is. we are only 22 months apart so I've always felt like we are the same age and this is really strange to me.

This is my sisters and I last year.

I know that she will be a beautiful bride and I know that Mal and Mark with have a wonderful life together. It is weird to me that we will never go on another family vacation just me my mom and my sisters, we have been doing that as long as I can remember every summer and now we won't be able to. It's just weird to think that I will actually have a brother now, don't get me wrong I like Mark a lot. He is a great guy, It's just weird that he will actually be apart of our family now. My family is VERY close and we are adding our first new member, I guess I will probably be the next person who gets to add a member but I just don't feel old enough for that to happen.

Now onto my favorite part of the post.

Peaks of the week- Definitely watching some football last night, that was amazing! Going wedding dress shopping today for Mal, I know it will be so much fun with my family and I can't wait for her to find the perfect dress!

Pits of the week- Being a cranky butt because I've been so tired lately, hopefully that ends after this long weekend and cutting my work hours. Also finding out all the things I need to accomplish in the next two years before I graduate and feeling really behind. I know they want you to be at the top of your game when you graduate and that's why its like this but it is very overwhelming. I know I can do everything it's just a lot to take in.

Praises of the week- I'm praising God that Jarr's little brother did good last night and didn't get hurt, he tore his ACL in the state championship game last year and it's been a long road to recovery for him, so last night was a big deal. I'm praising God for Labor Day and getting a long weekend! I definitely need it after all of the craziness I've had lately.

Prayers of the week- I'm praying that God will heal Ryan (Jarr's brother) and the swelling that I'm sure will come today isn't to bad. I'm praying that Mal finds the perfect dress today and isn't overwhelmed by planning her wedding in such a short time period. I'm also praying for peace for myself, I know my future is in God's hands it just seems very overwhelming when I think about it.

What are your's for the week?
