Turning the Tables

Today I'm sharing inspiration of table makeovers! Some of these tables have the most unique design and they look so amazing! I am really impressed by the skill and design that was put into these pieces of furniture.

I really love the wood accent on this table. I think it was such a great idea to add the wood planks to the top and it really changed the whole look of this table. I love neat ideas like this that change a whole look. I would love to have tables like this in my living room.

I have a great love of travel and I am slightly obsessed with maps. So this table is something I would love to have in my home. Someday I would like to have a library and this would be perfect in a little reading nook with an over-sized chair and comfy pillows.

This is the coolest idea, seriously I am so impressed that someone thought to make a side table out of old suitcases. This is genius! I mean think of all the storage you would have and it looks so amazing. I think this is a great idea and would add so much character to a room.

Miss Mustard Seed always has the greatest ideas. I would love to make something like this and give it to my grandma for her music room. This would be great for anyone with a  love of music.

I really love the design and color of this little side table. I am really into gold right now and I would love to use this table as a great accent piece. I think this would look great in a little girls room next to the bed as a night stand. It would also work well with a big chair and window.

Which table is your favorite?

WW- Eat, Drink, and Be Married

It's the last week of Wedding Wednesday!!! To catch up on all the other Wedding Wednesday posts you can go to this page. Or you can visit them like this, week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4, week 5, week 6, week 7, week 8, week 9week 10, and week 11. I hope that you have enjoyed all the wedding Wednesday inspiration and that it has helped with you wedding planning.

This week I am talking about a big part of your wedding. The drinks, this can be something that you spend a lot of money on or something that isn't very expensive at all. It all depends on the alcohol and if you decide to serve adult beverages or not. So today I am sharing with you a few different options, a few are adult beverages and some are just different drinks.

I love the way this drink station is set up. I think it looks really cool and the different heights adds to it. I also like how every drink has some kind of fruit or mint leaves floating in it. This adds so much to the drinks and just makes them look really neat. I also like how they have used stones to write the drink type on. I think this is a must, you have to have your drinks labeled!

This drink looks so pretty and it sound delicious! I really like how they added the lime slice to the glass, that definitely adds a nice touch when you are serving guests.  This is something that could be done to adult or regular beverages and I think everyone would enjoy.

This drink looks YUMMY! I love kiwi so I was very excited when I saw this drink. This is a watermelon kiwi drink and it looks so good. I really like how you can see all the fruit in the pitcher and it looks like they much have some sliced up for you to put in your drink. That would be a great touch for a party! A bowl of sliced fruit to add to your tea or punch is always nice.

I love that these drink pitchers are all sitting on a stump. I think that is such a clever idea! I also really like the hanging chalkboard signs. This is a great idea for a big party and would make things super easy to display if you have enough pitchers and stumps! I also think it is so smart to have those little clothes under the spout of the glasses. This always seems to cause some form of mess so that is such a smart idea!

This looks delicious and I love that they put all of the lemons in the top of the pitcher. My only concern about this is little hands and fingers grabbing lemons out of the top. In my family that would definitely be a problem.  I also really like the straws in the background. The recipe for this drink looks super simple and I think anyone could make it.

I really love the way this drink table is displayed. If I could snatch that stand I would in a heart beat! This is such a unique way to serve drinks and it works perfect in an outdoor setting. Once again I love the fruit in the drinks and I think these all look really yummy! I also like how the pitchers are positions right at the edge of the table so any dripping will just soak up in the ground.

What kind of drink displays do you like to have?

Baby K Reveal Decorations

A few days ago I shared with you about my best friend having a little sweet baby! I shared with you my reveal inspiration and party decorations so today I am going to share with you the decorations I put together for the party.

All of these supplies were purchased at Hobby Lobby in the party section. I wanted to get a variety of pink and blue decorations and then to combine them and make some cute decorations. I decided that I could get some of the prepackaged things and then rework them to make what I wanted. Since we are currently living in boxes I have no idea where most of my craft things are so this was my best option.

In the dinning room where we had all of the food set out I hung up these blue and pink dot bands. These are cute and simple. I got a package of pink and a package of blue and just combined them. I also put blue and pink streamers on the backs of the dinning room chairs. My helper for this party was a  year old so she decided how long the streamers were going to be. It looks great but not quite what my OCD self had in mind. I also got a package of pink and blue balloons and had the girls help me blow them up, these were put up all over the house.

For the dinning room table I got plastic table cloths from Dollar Tree and I unfolded the pink on and used the blue one as a runner. This seemed like the best way to showcase both colors. I also got straw decorations at hobby lobby, mustache's for boys and bows for girls. I spread these out on the table and lots of people used them on their straws.

I really like the pennant banners so I got a pink and blue one from Hobby Lobby and just made hung one tighter then the other so they would both show. I put a blue balloon on one side and a pink on the other, the back door is to the right of this picture and it was super bright outside.

I made this sign with a poster board, some craft paper and stickers. I got the largest stickers that they had in black and then I just got enough to go with the saying I wanted to use. For the pennant banner I just cut the corners off  of two pieces of paper, I made sure they were all the same size and they ended up working really well. I attached them with glue dots and used a marker to write on "HE" and "SHE" on the pink and blue paper. I just sat this sign on a bench by the front door and taped the top to the bench so it wouldn't fall over.

For the reveal I got a big black balloon, at hobby lobby they have a special giant black balloon in the balloon section. I knew what they were having so I cut up pieces of streamers and filled the balloon with it. Then the day of the reveal I used a helium tank and filled the balloon up. We had the future dad hold the balloon and the future mom pop it with a a stake knife.

All of the little ones loved the confetti and kept playing with it. Everyone had a great time and we are all very happy and excited for little girl baby K to be here!

What kind of decorations would you use for a gender reveal party?

Happy Memorial Day!!

Today is such an important day for our country and I hope that everyone will take a minute to remember all of the men and women who have served for our freedom.

In this world it is easy to get caught up in everything and forget that even today there are American's fighting and serving so we can live here in peace. So take a minute and remember that freedom doesn't come free. We are only free because of all the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

I'm so thankful to be an American and for all of the freedoms we are given. I hope that everyone takes a minute today to say a prayer for all of those serving and those mourning the loss of someone who did serve.

Thank you so much for your service and dedication.

Memorial Day Food Ideas

With Memorial Day being Monday I wanted to share some fun and easy memorial day food ideas that would be great for a party or get together anyone might be having. All of these look great and like something anyone could whip up quickly.

These berry kabobs look really yummy and simple. This would be super easy if you have little hands who want to help. I like this versions also for a party because people won't be touching everything which is much cleaner. Check out all the info on this at BHG.com

This looks so good! I love how they did the red, white, and blue dipped oreo's. This is something you could do with a lot of different food varieties. Check out Saving Dollars and Sense to get the details about these bad boys.

These pretzel sticks look amazing and I'm 90% sure if I tried this mine wouldn't look as good. I think these are perfect for Memorial day festivities and Lady Behind the Curtain gives you all the details on how to make these.

I couldn't find a home for this guy on pinterest but I think this is pretty self explanatory. This looks great and you could mix it up with different red, white, and blue fruits and foods. I really like that they did white chocolate pretzels which are delicious and you can buy prepackaged so there's less work for you.

Who doesn't look a good rice krispies treat!?! These look super yummy and I love the red, white, and blue look. Check out all the info on how to do this over at Lil Luna.

I really really really love these mason jars. I think they look amazing and there is probably no way I could ever get any to look this good. To get a tutorial on how to make these beauty's go over to It All Started With Paint.

What Are You Benchin' About?

In the last few weeks I have shared about my different furniture loves of kitchen tables, upholstered chairs, and hutches. Today I am going to share with you some re-purposed furniture that has become benches.  I really love how all of these benches were created out of something that isn't quite what they were made for. I think this is a great way to up-cycle things in your home and I am definitely loving this trend.

The chair bench, I think this is a great idea. It is so clever, I really am impressed with this piece and I also really love this color. I am definitely in a cobalt blue stage of my life so this piece calls to me.

The wooden crate bench is also clever. I really love the color of red that they picked and also that piece of wood is gorgeous. The stain on it is perfect and it turned out great. This would be perfect for an entry way with the cubbies.

This little bucket bench seat is super cute. I really love the detail on the legs and bottom part of this piece. I like how she has left the drawer so you can still use it for storage and the color works really well. I also like the detail of the different color on the top shelf.

I really like this entry way piece and how big it is. The color is great and it offers cubbies for your shoes and hooks for your coats. I'm a big fan of these pieces, they are so smart for a mud room or entry way.

I love the combination of distressed white with this gorgeous wood. I think the colors work great together and it definitely helps that she has a little story behind this piece. I really love the way this turned out and would totally love to snatch it off her front porch!

Now this is one of two pieces that were done like this. I personally like the white better but I am a white and gray kind of girl. One feature I really love is that the bench part of this lifts up for storage under the seat. I think that is so smart! You can never have enough storage in your home!

Which piece is your favorite?

Candy Popcorn Snack

Today I am sharing with you one of the easiest treats I have ever made. It is so simple and super delicious, this is perfect for a party of any kind and can easily be customized to fit your event. I'm going to be honest with you though, this is highly delicious and addictive and really not that good for you. Seriously though, every single person I've ever made it for has not been able to stop eating it. It is a blessing and a curse so be prepared!

What You Need
1 bag white chocolate chips
1 bag Chester's Original Puffs
Sprinkles of Choice (optional)
Wax Paper/Foil

You will also need a microwavable bowl and a large mixing bowl and spoon.

The first step is to put the white chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl. You are going to just melt the chips, it takes 1 minute in my microwave.

After those are melted you are going to stir them together and they should look like the above chips. If there are some that are still not melted all the way this is fine. As long as 90% is melted you are ready for step 3.

Dump your bag of Puff Corn into a large mixing bowl. Then you are going to pour all of the white chocolate chips on top of the puffcorn like below.

Once all of the white chocolate is in the mixing bowl you are going to stir it all together. You want the chocolate to be on every piece of puff corn. This should be fairly easy to mix up and just make sure that every piece is mostly covered, they will look like the picture below.

After this you are going to lay out your wax paper or tin foil. They both work the same, just use whatever you have on hand. Make sure you tear a pretty good size piece, for one bag I would tear a little bigger then a large cookie sheet. You are going to put all of the mixed puff corn and chocolate on the sheet, just pour the mixture out on the foil. Then you are going to want to spread it all out, you don't want it stacked on top of each other, separate all of the puff corn so it's one thin layer.

The puff corn should now look like the above picture on your counter. The next step is optional, if you decide to add sprinkles which don't change the taste- they just add some color and make it more fun. This is when you do it, cover the puff corn with as little or as many sprinkles as you want. You want to do this now while they are still cooling so the sprinkles will stick to puff corn.

This is what it sill look like, then you need to let the puff corn sit for at least 20 minutes to harden up. You want all of the chocolate to dry and stick to the puff corn.

I got my sprinkle's in the discount section at Target. I like them because they are really fine, so they stuck to the popcorn really well. Any sprinkles will work these are just the kind that I prefer.

After you let everything dry and harden you are ready to serve! The puff corn will stick some to the foil but you just pick it off and put in a fun bowl. Then you are ready to serve at any party or event! This is a great simple treat that takes no time at all!

Have you ever had candy popcorn before?
