Real Grown Up World

I am what I would call officially a real grown up. I graduated from college in December and I have been working full time at the job I had during college. I can honestly say I love being finished with school. I loved learning and getting my education but working full time and going to school full time was a lot of do. I am really enjoying the free time and it is a wonderful adjustment.

Another bonus is I crossed something else off of my 30 before 30 Challenge I had for myself.

Here is Jarr and I after graduation. With my empty diploma case, I was a little sad that I wasn't getting my actual piece of paper that I paid so much for. But alas they do have rules about such things.

This is my cap that I decorated. I had a lot of fun decorating it and trying to decide how to make my mark. I think it fits my personality pretty well.

Now being in real big kid world I have had to make a few adjustments. No more late nights of procrastination on the computer while avoiding homework at all costs. Haha I have to actually go to sleep at a decent time and wake up early to go to work. Jarr and I have started working out again and working on being happier healthier versions of ourselves.

This is a picture of two of my really good friends all through college. These girls helped me survive this last semester and we have some great memories getting our degrees together.

It has been quite an adjustment but I am really looking forward to having more time to spend with you guys again.

Peaks, Pits, Praises, Prayers

Well it was finals week for me and Jarr so this week has been a little rough. We haven't had much sleep and we are both pretty worn out. Today is our last real day together until he comes back at the end of the summer. I have to work all day and then we move him tomorrow. It will be good for us in the long run, last summer this was good for our relationship. It really helped us appreciate the time that we did have together and to value that time more. We spent a lot less time on our electronics when we were together and a lot more time actually together. So for this week here are my top peaks, pits, praises, and prayers.

Sweet Remy staying up with me while I finish my last paper, she is worn out from her doggie daycare interview.

Peaks: Finals are OVER!!!! Woooohooooo I cannot express my relief to be done with school for the year. We both had some really tough classes so this is a nice break for us.

Pits: That means that Jarr leaves tomorrow for the summer. He will only be 4 1/2 hours away but we both work full time and we won't know what his weekend schedule will ever be like so it could be a long time without seeing each other.

Praises: I passed my hardest class! I was really worried about passing it because I'm going to be honest, Spanish is not my forte. Three semesters of it and now I am finally done. I cannot thank the Lord enough for helping me get through that.

Prayers: For my sanity this summer, I will be at home all summer with the fur babies by myself. This will be a first with Remy. She is a handful at 5 months as a German Shepherd but she really is a good puppy. I just hope she stays that way when dad is gone and mom is really in charge. We will find out who the real alpha is this summer.

What are your Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers this week?

First Day of School

Even as a Senior in college the first day of class still feels like the first day of school in elementary school. You get nervous to meet your teachers and you don't know what to expect for the coming semester. As I prepare myself to start one of my final semesters of college I feel like the 1st grader again getting ready for Mrs. Burchfield's class and having no idea what to expect.

Praising him through everything and praying continually this semester is one of my main goals this year.

That's part of growing up that they don't tell you about, it gets easier but some of it will always be the same. The nervousness you get sitting down in a classroom for the first time hoping you got a good seat  and your professor isn't a total flop. As I start classes this week I have all new binders and notebooks, that I specially selected for this semester. That's one part of being a kid that you never grow out of, getting cool school supplies is always fun, the bad part is as a college kid you buy them yourself.

I'm taking 15 hours this semester as well as working full time still, just like all the other semesters I've had in college, but this one is extra special because at the end of it I will have 7 hours left in my college career. I will be part time next semester and graduating in December. The real world just keeps getting closer and closer to being here.

My motto for this semester is to Pray More and Worry Less.

On my first day of school it will be a little different then every other day, it's a new beginning of sorts. New classes, teachers, and faces. Lots of new things to learn and new people to meet.

What do you do on your first day of school that's special?
