Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers

Since yesterday I posted about a Bad Weather Emergency Bag I thought I would share with you my Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers today instead. This week has been a little crazy with wedding stuff going on, we wrote all of our thank you cards for the shower we had last Saturday, I got all of my bridesmaid gifts in and taken to the next stop along the gift line, we are trying to get our wedding invitations all put together and mailed out, and we have another shower tomorrow afternoon. So this week we have been in full on wedding mode at home, check out our week recap though and see all the things I talked about here.

I talked about Hydration on Tuesday and how important water is to our healthy living journey.

On Wedding Wednesday this week I talked about all of the wedding cake varieties and how you can please every guest with these options.

I shared with you my closet lust on Thursday and it make me very jealous of their amazing organizational skills.

And of course my emergency preparedness bag from yesterday. I really want to encourage all of you to take the time to make one of these and be prepared for anything that might happen. This is really a lifesaver when you are in a rush to get to safety. You have everything you need right here easy to grab and go.

Peaks- This week we did accomplish a lot of wedding things that we needed to get taken care of. A big peak was that Jarr had a huge final presentation this week for school and he is now finished with his most important class presentation which is a huge relief.

Pits- The weather has been a little crappy in Oklahoma, we have gotten a lot of rain which we needed but it has been cold and gloomy most days this week which is slightly depressing.

Praises- We are praising God for all of the wonderful people in our lives who have been supporting us through our engagement and who are throwing us showers and being there for us. We are very blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives.

Prayers- My mom is trying to sell her house, the house I grew up in and she has had a lot of showings this week. That the right person will buy her house and give her the opportunity to move on to new things, as well as give her an offer she deserves for her home.

What are your Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers for the week?

Hydration is the Answer

If this is your first time visiting my healthy life journey make sure to check out the other posts about it here and here. Today I am going to talk about something that is very important to your overall health even if you aren't trying to make yourself more healthy or lose weight or get in shape. This is something that as humans we need regardless of lifestyle. Hydration is so important and it is something that a lot of people simply don't think about. So today I'm going to talk about how drinking water is one of the easiest and best things you can do for your body.

In our social media driven world people get bored and they binge eat just because they are bored. There is a huge difference in eating because you are hungry and eating because you are bored. If you really need the food then you can drink a full glass of water and you will still be hungry afterwards. This is good for your digestion and it will help you eat less because  you will be fuller to start with from the water.

One of the biggest issues with people is that they have no idea how much water they really need to intake a day to be healthy. So above is a handy little way to figure out how many ounces you need to drink. BUT I've been told by many people that every pop, Gatorade, or sugar drink that you have you take away a glass of water. So if you have your 70oz and then 2 pops you really need to drink at least 2 more waters the same size as the pop you drank. I know, its so unfair.

Everyone wants to be in the best health they can be, really being healthy is so important to our lives and we need to be in good health to live long lives and to have less health problems. So even though just drinking more water and cutting out sugary drinks will help you loose weight it will also help you feel so much better. So lets drink up and yes at the beginning you might bloat but its because your body is excited its getting extra water then normal and it wants to hold on to it. This will get better as you continue to stay hydrated and make the lifestyle change.

The above graphic helps give a little more information about when the best time to drink water is. I think this is helpful for anyone who is looking for the health benefits that drinking more water can offer. I also thought it was cool that you can really make a difference in your health simply by drinking more water and drinking water at certain times of your day.

So this weeks challenge is to drink 1 more glass or bottle of water every day then you normal did and to see how it makes you feel. I promise that you will feel better after 2 days, just by drinking more water and less sugar. It really makes a huge difference in your lifestyle and it is a really simple change that you can make. Instead of getting that tea or pop for lunch get a glass of water and get it refilled once or twice, simple changes are all it takes.

How did you do with getting physical last week? Did you do something every day?
