Wedding Wednesday Recap Part 2

If you missed the first edition of my Wedding Wednesday Recap you can find it here. Today I am sharing with you the second section of Wedding Wednesday posts. I'm going to be sharing my favorite part of each post and giving you a little more information about my wedding. To read all about my love story check out all about me and Jarr here.  Now on to the good stuff!

Week 7- Isle Decorations, this was so fun to look up and find ideas that I liked for our wedding ceremony. I didn't realize how complex some people make their isle decorations but it also made me really grateful that we are getting married outside in a gorgeous location. So little decorations are needed and that makes things a lot easier on us!

This is by far my most favorite isle decorations. I love the combination of the flower petals and the variety of candles together. I would definitely be doing this if we were having our wedding at night time or when the sun was setting.

Week 8- How About That Party, this was really interesting for me to look into and see how much people legitimately spend on wedding receptions.  We are planning on having a small reception after the wedding at a house one of our families is staying in so we aren't spending very much money on decorations and it's going to be very informal. These receptions are all really gorgeous though, they just are way out of our price range.

I really love the look of this reception with the lights hanging from the trees. I also like how it looks like all the centerpieces are small so you can actually see the people sitting across from you. This is by far my favorite reception that I found.

Week 9- A Little Party Never Killed Nobody, like I said above we are having a small reception after the wedding and it will be at a house we are renting. So we are doing finger foods and sandwiches with our wedding cupcakes. We aren't spending a lot of money on food and our families are helping us make everything so it's going to save us a ton of money which is really nice. These all look like great ideas though and I think you could find affordable options.

I like the idea of having food platters set out for everyone to eat buffet style. This is what we will be doing and it seems like it will be the easiest option in our informal setting. I think that you can still have good food and a good time on a budget and that's what we are set out to do!

Week 10- Let the Games Begin, since we are having an informal reception we aren't having dancing. So we have decided to make some different games for people to play and to entertain everyone. We thought this would be fun for everyone.

I really love the idea of this giant Jenga game. I think this would be so much for to play and I'm trying to talk Jarr into making one for the wedding. Hopefully it will work!

Week 11- Can I Get Your Autograph? I really didn't want to go with a traditional wedding book after seeing all of the cool ideas on pinterest and the blogosphere. So I had a lot of fun looking up different ideas for this post and really got some good inspiration.

I really love the idea of having your guest sign a globe where they think you should travel too. I would love to have people do this and then try to actually travel to all of those places. I don't know if Jarr would be up for this, he doesn't like to travel. But I'm sure I could talk him into going with me!

Week 12- Eat, Drink, and Be Married, this was a really fun thing for me to look up because we are wanting to have some fun drinks at our reception. This was a great way to get some good recipes and see how other people have displayed things. I really like the way all of these are set up and I'm looking forward to using this inspiration.

I like the idea of having a variety of drinks for people. Some adult beverages thrown in and plenty of fun for everyone! I also love that these drinks all have labels so people know what they are. This is a must for me at any party.

Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers

Since yesterday I posted about a Bad Weather Emergency Bag I thought I would share with you my Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers today instead. This week has been a little crazy with wedding stuff going on, we wrote all of our thank you cards for the shower we had last Saturday, I got all of my bridesmaid gifts in and taken to the next stop along the gift line, we are trying to get our wedding invitations all put together and mailed out, and we have another shower tomorrow afternoon. So this week we have been in full on wedding mode at home, check out our week recap though and see all the things I talked about here.

I talked about Hydration on Tuesday and how important water is to our healthy living journey.

On Wedding Wednesday this week I talked about all of the wedding cake varieties and how you can please every guest with these options.

I shared with you my closet lust on Thursday and it make me very jealous of their amazing organizational skills.

And of course my emergency preparedness bag from yesterday. I really want to encourage all of you to take the time to make one of these and be prepared for anything that might happen. This is really a lifesaver when you are in a rush to get to safety. You have everything you need right here easy to grab and go.

Peaks- This week we did accomplish a lot of wedding things that we needed to get taken care of. A big peak was that Jarr had a huge final presentation this week for school and he is now finished with his most important class presentation which is a huge relief.

Pits- The weather has been a little crappy in Oklahoma, we have gotten a lot of rain which we needed but it has been cold and gloomy most days this week which is slightly depressing.

Praises- We are praising God for all of the wonderful people in our lives who have been supporting us through our engagement and who are throwing us showers and being there for us. We are very blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives.

Prayers- My mom is trying to sell her house, the house I grew up in and she has had a lot of showings this week. That the right person will buy her house and give her the opportunity to move on to new things, as well as give her an offer she deserves for her home.

What are your Peaks, Pits, Praises, and Prayers for the week?

Wedding Wednesday- Having our Cake and Eat it Too

As a major sweet tooth I take our wedding dessert very seriously. I am an avid connoisseur of desserts in all forms and flavors. I enjoy the chocolate variety, as well as fruity, creamy, sweet, tart, and sometimes I even go for sour. So when Jarr and I started planning our wedding this was something that was on the top of my list.  To find out the other things we have pursued in our wedding planning process check out all the other Wedding Wednesday posts about my bouquet, my dress, choosing colors, picking a location, and wedding favors.

In our Pinterest world there are so many options for wedding cakes, wedding cupcakes, candy bars, and wedding desserts of all varieties. So I'm going to compile a small list of options for your wedding planning needs. We have chosen a small variety from all of these options and we really enjoyed all of the cake tasting we were able to do for this endeavor.

I LOVE the idea of a candy bar, this is something that will really meet the needs of every person who attends your wedding. There is a variety of options as you can see above and they have done a wonderful job of displaying everything here to look very pretty which is always a good idea. This would be really fun to do with bright wedding colors and a great way to bring in your colors at your reception without spending a lot of money.

For the breakfast lover/donut lover this is a great option. I though this was very unique and fun for a wedding cake. I love how some of the donuts are iced in what I'm guessing is a wedding color. This is such a fun idea and something that would also work well as a grooms cake.

Of course I had to show a traditional wedding cake, but these colors. Man, are they gorgeous or what. I love the teal and pinks together, they complement each other so well and I also love how this cake is ombre. Also, the stand the cake is sitting on is so feminine and pretty, it looks like a family heirloom.

Now this is the kind of cake that Jarr would be all over, he loves his pie. This is something he would be super excited about. I like how they have a variety of pies in different flavors and how they did mini pie tins and now just different big pies. This reminds me of the mini pumpkin pies my grandma used to make us for thanksgiving when I was a kid.

Here is another take on a desert bar, I love that there is obviously a large variety of delicious desserts available for everyone. The hardest part about this would be choosing which dessert to eat. All of these look yummy and like they would please any wedding goer.

What desserts did you pick for your wedding? Did you have your cake and eat it too?
